About the CSV to JSON Converter
The CSV to JSON Converter turns comma-separated data into clean JSON. Paste CSV text or open a .csv or .tsv file, and the converter handles quoted fields, escaped quotes and line breaks inside quotes. It can detect the delimiter automatically, use the first row as object keys, trim whitespace and pretty-print the result. Duplicate column names are renamed so no data is lost. Copy the JSON or download it as a .json file. Everything runs in your browser.
How to use it
- Add your CSV. Paste it into the input box, choose a file, or drag a .csv file onto the page.
- Set the options. Check the delimiter, whether the first row is a header, and whether to trim whitespace.
- Check the JSON. The converted JSON appears on the right and updates as you change the options.
- Copy or download. Use Copy for the clipboard or Download to save a .json file.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert CSV to JSON?
Paste your CSV into the input box or open a file, then choose the delimiter and header options. The JSON output appears immediately; use Copy or Download to take it with you.
My CSV uses semicolons or tabs. Does that work?
Yes. Leave the delimiter on Detect automatically, or choose semicolon, tab or pipe from the list.
What does the header option do?
When it is ticked, the first row becomes the property names and the remaining rows become objects. When it is unticked, every row is kept as an array.
Does it handle commas and quotes inside values?
Yes. Quoted fields, escaped double quotes and line breaks inside quotes are all handled.
What happens to duplicate column names?
They are renamed with a suffix such as name_2, and a warning lists the changes.
Is my CSV uploaded?
No. The file is read and converted entirely in your browser.
